Trails

Inspiring Souls Trail MapAn interactive walking trail around the village has been developed, with the help of the local history group, having researched the names of the soldiers who died in the First World War via the parish and local county records and ancestry websites. The trails incorporate QR codes which link to pages on this website.

To help with your enjoyment of the trail experience some documents have been produced which can be downloaded from links below. The aim is for everyone to discover and learn the history of those who gave the ultimate sacrifice for their country.

First of all you will need to download the instructions for the trails, which explains the different routes, an approximate time for each of the red, green and blue routes, together with guidance on taking each one.

You then need to download the map for the trails which will help you identify the various points of interest along each trail.

To help you link directly to the appropriate page on this website we have created a list of QR codes, so you can read the history relating to the points of interest as you go round the trail.

Finally, for the younger explorers on the blue trail we have prepared a spotter sheet for them to complete.

We hope you all enjoy exploring using the different trails and learning about the history of Carleton Rode.
